Agriculture contributes to about 58% livelihood of India’s population. However, after independence, India made immense growth in food-grain production which has increased multiple-folds.

Sugarcane and cotton have witnessed a massive growth in yield and production over the year
Cotton crops have witnessed an increase in the area of cultivation, which is due to the advancement in technology and seeds quality
Foodgrains include rice, wheat, coarse cereals, and pulses
Nine oilseeds include groundnut, castor seed, sesamum, niger seed, soybean, sunflower, rapeseed & mustard, linseed, and safflower
